Coach Scott Gourlay said: “We are a hardworking, caring and inclusive group who try our best to deliver fun football to young kids in the Kirkcaldy area.

“I am one of four coaches at the club. I have a group of 22 kids all born in 2013 that are taking the first steps into grass roots football.

“We have been together for two years and this should have been our second season at fun 4s festivals organised by CEFSSA, the football association for children’s football in east of Fife.

“We were awarded the fair play trophy at the end of the season it was a great achievement by all the kids they did so well.

“Unfortunately due to COVID-19 everything has been put on hold and our season that should have started after Easter has not yet begun.

“This has affected every team at our age group and across the whole grass roots community.

“So we have tried to keep the kids active and as involved where possible But given the circumstances this has been difficult.”

The club has entered into a working partnership with Football Buzz, a Lothian based kids football organisation that have offered free Zoom training sessions.

They take part on Thursdays at 6pm – the same time as the club’s regular training – our regular training should be – and Scott says the sessions have been a success.

“It has been so beneficial to the team and all the kids involved.

“We’ve had great fun training at home in the house or in gardens.

“It’s been great seeing all the kids most of them in their training kits taking it serious and doing their best.”
