It was 33 years ago this month Raith Rovers won promotion back to the old First Division - and the Frank Connor era began.
These images. From the Fife Free Press archive, capture the emotion of that never to be forgotten, nail-biting day at Stair Park, when Rovers stormed to a 4-1 win over Stranraer to clinch promotion - a race that went right to the wire.

They were taken by Bill Dickman, who was chief photographer of the Press, and who travelled to the south-west of Scotland to capture one of the most important days in the history of the club on Saturday, May 9, 1987.
