In a statement on the club’s website, a spokesman said: “Whilst many fans have indicated that they have no desire to reclaim the money for the lost games – indeed many have made additional financial contributions to see us through the shortfall – not everyone is in such a fortunate position, and the club feels that it is only fair to offer a partial refund to those that wish to claim it.

“For fans who are not claiming a refund, we may be able to claim back VAT on the amount they have forgone by treating that amount as a donation to the club.

“If we do not hear from you by Friday 12th June, we will assume your consent.”

The refunds offered are; adults – £50, concessions (over 65/under 21/disabled) will get £30, whilst under 16s will receive £8.

“Our supporters are aware of the severe financial pressure the football club is facing with the loss of all revenue and have been magnificent in their collective efforts to plug the funding gap and ensure that Raith Rovers emerges from this situation a stronger club ready to face the thrilling challenges of playing in the Championship.”
