(Rovers win 3-2 on penalties.)
Pittenweem made the short trip to play Denbeath in the Taylor Sullivan Funeral Directors Challenge Cup round two, and the game turned out to be very close with the Rovers edging through on penalties.
The early chances in the first half fell to the Rovers with Craig Cameron having a couple of attempts that were both saved along with attacks down both wings by Kris Low and Mike Gardner.
The Denbeath defence, though, were mean spirited and not giving Pittenweem any clear chances.
The home side also had a couple of attacks before half time, but they were both dealt with by the Rovers back four.
The second half was more or less the same as the first, although there were a few more good chances for both sides as the 45 went on.
Denbeath had a couple of good efforts with shots from the edge of the box which both went wide, and for Pittenween Mike Gardner had a shot that went just wide.
A Neale Smith header struck the post and Liam McGhee headed just over along with the Denbeath ‘keeper making some good saves.
With no scoring the tie went to penalty kicks with Pittenweem going through.
