Rovers lead from the start to claim all three points

Though not at their best Pittenweem Rovers did enough to secure the three Premier League points at home to Rosyth.

Rovers started quickly got an early goal after 15 minutes. A corner was sent in by John Calcutt and met by Liam McGhee at the back post.

The visitors had a good chance to equalize after 20 minutes when their striker sent a shot narrowly past the post from the edge of the box.

With the half around 35 minutes old, Rovers scored another goal when they were awarded a free kick around 25 yards from out that were that was well hit by John Calcull. The Rosyth keeper couldn’t hold the shot and Rovers striker Gary Mishart was quick to pounce and make it 2-0.

In the last minutes of the half Rosyth had a good chance with a shot from just inside the box, but Rovers keeper Garry Bowman came off his line quickly and made a great. Before the half time arrival, Pittenweem had a good move that ended with a shot from Craig Cameron that was well saved.

The second half started with both Neale Smith and Craig Cameron denied by good saves from the Rosyth keeper. The visiting team were looking to get back in the game and they came close on the hour mark when a header from a corner was cleared.

Rovers secured the points on 64 minutes when a great through ball was played up to Craig Cameron who ran through on goal, went round the keeper and scored to make it 3-0.

Mike Gardner had a good shot from the edge of the box for Rovers, but it was well saved by the keeper. Two minutes later Gardner had another effort when he had a great run from his own half, but once again the keeper saved what proved to be the last chance of the game.
