Right on half time, Craigroyston broke through, but the shot flew past the upright and out for a goal kick.

In the second half, Quinn broke on the right, but the cross into the box was far too heavy for Jack Wilson, and the chance was gone.

Saints then got off the hook when the visitors had a shot which cracked off the bar.

On the hour mark, Quinn was replaced by Graham and shortly afterwards, Cunningham went off to be replaced by Falconer.

Jack Wilson was fouled on the edge of the penalty area, but his free kick was played straight into the keeper’s arms.

Honeyman then played a superb ball to Wilson, and this time he made no mistake to put Saints two up.

McIness was then treated for a knock, and was soon replaced by Forbes with 80 minutes on the clock.

Saints’ third goal came after good play on the right and Wilson finished to give the home side a comfortable win and their first three points of the new league season.
