Star have started their McBookie.com East Premier League season on fire and sit in a lofty fourth place.

Eck Davidson’s men would be keen to keep the league games flowing, but instead will have to keep up their momentum in the cup tournament.

And they head into the match at Treaton Park as favourites, having yet to taste anything other than victory on their home turf this season.

From the three games played at home, the side has won them all, scoring 11 and conceding just five into the bargain.

Glenrothes, too, are on duty in the same cup competition.

They’re also favourites to win their clash away from home at Lochore.

Glens will make the short journey to face their opponents who have struggled so far this term.

Playing in the area’s bottom division, Lochore prop it up, taking just one point from their opening four league matches.

But it’ll be league business for Thornton Hibs who are one of the few sides not playing in the cup this weekend.

And that won’t be any disappointment to them as they aim to keep piling on the points. Thornton are sitting pretty at the summit of the McBookie.com North Division.

Craig Gilbert’s men have a maximum 12 points from their opening four games.
