Player-boss John Ovenstone will be looking for a similarly positive performance tomorrow, having been disappointed by the overall display last weekend.

“Credit to everyone involved for coming back from 3-1 down and getting the win, but for 80 minutes, we deserved nothing,” said the gaffer.

The manager did praise a couple of players in particular and they are likely to have a significant role to play tomorrow.

“Special mention to Daniel Sanchez and Stuart Walton in the middle of the park,” he said.

“We said at half-time that someone had to take the game by the scruff of the neck and they did that.

“Daniel never stops and Stuart really came to the the fore in that second half.”

Attention now turns to the Whitburn match and a win would see ‘Port at least keep in touch with the top four.

Jamie Mackie will be available for selection.

Kick-off at Central Park is 1.30pm.
