Tayport and Fauldhouse will meet again this weekend.

Following last weekend’s hiatus, Tayport get back into competitive action tomorro when they play host to Fauldhouse United in a McBookie.com Super League fixture.

The East of Scotland Cup was the main event last Saturday, but Tayport’s opponents, Kelty Hearts, were involved in a Scottish FA Cup preliminary round tie and that senior fixture took precedence.

Instead, ‘Port travelled to Perth to meet Jeanfield Swifts in a friendly.

Swifts came out on top, winning by the odd goal in three.

Todd gave the Fair City outfit an interval lead but Tayport equalised on 79 minutes.

Forward Matt Adam was the scorer on his return from an extended trip to the USA.

Having levelled the score, Dave Baikie’s troops were disappointed to see Chris McLeish net a late winner for the hosts.

Serious action on the Canniepairt tomorrow though, with three league points up for grabs.

Tayport have moved off the bottom of he table, thanks to two successive wins, against Camelon and Broxburn respectively. Opponents Fauldhouse now prop up the table, but they sit only two points behind Tayport.

Hoose have gained five points, having drawn at home to Broxburn and Broughty, the latter game being an eight-goal thriller, and beaten Hill o’Beath away.

Their defeats have been tight matches, with little to separate the sides, so it looks like being a close one on the Canniepairt at 2.30pm.
