Bonnyrigg Rose....................3

Tayport’s miserable run of results continued when visiting Bonnyrigg Rose inflicted the latest Super League defeat, netting three times without reply on the Canniepairt.

Connaire Connelly and Gary Sutherland combined to set up the first opening, but Robertson’s shot was blocked by a defender.

Shortly afterwards, Matt Adam crossed from the right, Sutherland found Robertson and ‘Rigg ‘keeper Michael Andrews saved at his near post.

Bonnyrigg were almost gifted an opening goal on 25 minutes when Wayne McIntosh pounced on Marc Ogg’s back-header.

The striker lifted the ball over the advancing Gavin Wilson but the ‘keeper somehow managed to turn and grab the ball before McIntosh could complete the finish.

Wilson then had to save smartly at his near post to stop Clark Kay netting an own goal before the visitors eventually made the breakthrough.

With Tayport appealing for offside, McIntosh raced clear down the left channel and smashed his shot beyond Wilson.

McIntosh added his second goal, cutting in from the right and sending a low strike into the bottom corner, with 54 minutes gone.

Wilson’s outstretched arm prevented McIntosh adding a third and Tayport then created a few more opportunities of their own.

Matt Adam found Gary Sutherland, who shot wide, while Clark Kay was just over with a curling free kick.

Substitute Scott Finlay had a fierce drive saved by Andrews and it was the New Dundas Parkers who scored the third goal of the game.

Wilson parried Kieran McGachie’s powerful shot into the air and was put under pressure by two attackers as he tried to punch clear.

The ball, however, dropped for McGachie and he prodded home from close-range.
