Thornton bounce back to beat Welfare

Lochore may be bottom of the table but they made life very difficult for Thornton who only managed to seal victory after two late goals.

It was the visitors who took the lead in the 15th minute when Kevin Brown’s fierce strike took a slight deflection before ending up in the back of the net.

Daniel McNab levelled affairs 10 minutes later with a close in volley to complete the first-half scoring.

The same player gave Hibs the lead on the hour mark and just when it looked this would be the end of the scoring came the goals that ensured victory got Craig Gilbert’s men.

In the 85th minute, Chris Ireland sent Raymond Crichton dashing up the left flank.

The substitute cut in and fired in a shot home.

Barely 30 seconds later, Crichton gathered the ball inside the Lochore half then went on a run where he seemed to take on half their team before rolling the ball into the unguarded net.
