Hide AdThe Hibs’ responded in the fourth minute through Garry Thomson snr but Hibs’ top scorer could only put his effort over the crossbar.
His namesake, Thomson jnr, fared better in the seventh minute when he finished off a move involving Elliot Ford and Thomson snr.
The men from the west upped the ante as they pushed hard for a goal with Millar saving well from Jason McKay.

Hide AdIn the second-half the Hibs’ defence was coping with everything that was being thrown at them but they were dealt a blow in the 68th minute when, for the second game in succession, Millar had to go off injured allowing Linton to enter the fray.
It was a day of contrasting fortunes for all the McNabs concerned. On the negative side, the Rutherglen version will rue the day he left his shooting boots on the coach and the Thornton version – Daniel – received a second yellow card near the end.
