Both clubs have aspirations of promotion, with West End’s presence at the top end of the table coming as something of a surprise.

They currently sit in third place in the table, five points clear of ‘Port, who have two games in hand.

The sides have already met in the league this season so it’s early in the campaign for business against West End to be concluded.

In a midweek fixture at Strathmore Park, the hosts won by the odd goal in five and that has been Tayport’s only defeat so far.

It was, however, a game that Tayport should not have lost, so John Ovenstone’s men will be out to avenge that reversal this Saturday.

As well as beating Tayport, the Forfar outfit have also posted five other wins and drew away to Armadale last time out, so it will certainly be a difficult match for the Canniepairt men as fixtures against West End have always tended to be.

There are sure to be changes to the starting line-up and John Ovenstone will hope to have Alan Tulleth and Jamie Mackie available this week, as both missed the cup trip to Foxhall Park. Their return would add guile to Tayport’s play and both are dangerous from set-pieces.

Kick-off on the Canniepairt is scheduled for 2.30pm.
