Band, Brewster and Doig celebrate during Kennoway's weekend win.

The management knew the task ahead was a tough one as Tranent were unbeaten in ten games previously and were one of the form teams in the league.

Smith was patrolling the middle of the park for Tranent and his experience pitted him against the combative C Gay in what was turning out to be an intriguing battle.

Just when it looked like the away team were beginning to settle and look the more likely to open the scoring Tranent took the lead.

A free kick was swung deep into the back post where Christie was free from his marker to head the ball back across the goal into the opposite corner of the net.

Craig was beginning to have an impact on the game and within four minutes two players were cautioned for what can only be called calculated fouls on him.

The game sparked back into life ten minutes into the second half when Craig vacated his right wing berth to drive at the heart of the Tranent defence.

The winger meandered across to the left before delivering a pin point cross to the waiting Band who positioned himself before unleashing a powerful volley past Robertson.

Five minutes later KSH grabbed the lead.

If Band’s first goal went under the spectacular category his next effort was penalty box poaching at its best.

Anticipating a headed backpass the striker nipped in between the defender and the `keeper to prod the ball home.

Wilson put Kennoway two goals to the good.

Tranent almost pulled a goal back with ten minutes remaining when a delightful chip was somehow touched onto the crossbar by Paterson before being cleared by Partridge.
