Bluebell were due to host Kirkintilloch Rob Roy in the Challenge Cup but following a pitch inspection Moorside Park was deemed unplayable and the match was postponed.

Off the pitch there was some activity however, with two players – Mikey Ness and Greg Halliday – both leaving the club.

Ness has moved on to Rosyth after seeking more regular first team football.

A club spokesman said he has left with the club’s best wishes.

He added: “Mikey has been at the club a few seasons and it has been a pleasure having him.

"He will always be rememberd for that special goal against Auchinleck.

"Good Luck, Mikey, and a massive thanks from all at the ‘Bell for your contribution while at the club.”

Halliday’s reasons for leaving the club are due to work commitments and fitness issues.

The club spokesman said an agreement had been reached to free the player who had recently joined Dundonald from Bowhill Rovers.

“A massive thanks to Greg for his contribution over the short period he was at the club,” he said.

"We wish him all the best for the future.”

This weekend Bluebell are on their travels to West Lothian to play Blackburn.

Dundonald may fancy their chances of an away win as the hosts have won only won of their nine league games so far this season, and lost the other eight.
