Then a mix up at the back saw goalie Dale Wotherspoon and Kyle Baker collide for a calamitous own goal.

Cupar immediately picked themselves up and at the other end a curling cross from Iain Boylan was perfectly placed for Richie Lawson to tap in at the back post. On the half hour mark the visitors scored goal number four when Scott McBride drilled the ball low and hard into the net.

A soft penalty for Lumphinnans saw Dylan Hannah convert from the spot to make it 4-2.

Hearts found time for one more before the break when Scott McBride eventually netted after a scramble in the box.

Another penalty for the home side eleven minutes into the second half after a Lee Sibanda hand ball saw the same man Dylan Hannah step up.

But this time Dale Wotherspoon went the right way for a superb save. Back at the other end Cupar increased their lead ten minutes later when Kyle Baker nodded in after a high ball into the box.

With five minutes remaining the referee pointed to the spot for a third time after a blue shirt handball and Scott McBride coolly converted for his hattrick. Cupar missed a hatful of chances in the second half but credit to Lumphinnans who made them work for the three points.
