East Fife chairman Jim Stevenson says he already can’t wait to see the club back in action at the start of February.

The Methil support have been unable to watch their club in action since the start of the new campaign.

Now, given the most recent announcement to close down the game below the SPFL Championship, supporters won’t even be able to keep track of their games from home.

Mr Stevenson said the club fully understood the measures taken.

As most of you are aware the SFA has suspended all league football below Championship level and all Scottish Cup matches,” said the club chair.

“Whilst, as a club, we are disappointed, we fully understand and support this course of action.

“As things stand, our next scheduled game will be away to Montrose in League One on February 6 and already that can’t come soon enough.

As a result, Bayview will be closed for everything other than essential maintenance.

“The office switchboard will however remain open during normal office hours.

Please stay safe and we hope to see you before too long.”

A review into the new measures will be taken at the end of the month before any confirmation is given on when, or of, the game can resume.
