St Andrews United face a vital McBookie.com Super League clash as they travel for the fourth week in a row, this time across the Tay to Broughty Athletic.

Saints boss Phil McGuire is under no illusion about the importance of the task ahead.

He said: “We go into it with the confidence that we have set a standard of what is expected over the last few weeks, our performance levels as individuals and as a team have been high and we must attain this despite not getting the points we have merited.

“We know we won’t be favourites in this game as Broughty have good individual players and experience throughout their team.

“Keith Gibson will have them well structured and looking to impose themselves in the game.

“We have lost the last few games to them but it’s important we take each game on its own merits and we must concentrate fully on our jobs as a team to push one another and support each other on the pitch.”

“I believe we have good players in our squad and it is important we believe that ourselves, we look to work hard on the basics and look to play and use the ball well when we have it.

“Winning our individual battles and collectively remaining a unit, if we can do that then we will give ourselves a fighting chance and that’s all I can ask.”

St Andrews United supporters are advised that kick off on Saturday at Whitton Park is at the earlier time of 1.45pm.
