We need to bounce back straight away at Forfar

The St Andrews United boss admitted the visitors from the Wee County looked hungrier for the win at Barnetts Park.

Sauchie raced into a 4-0 half-time lead which they held on to in the second 45 to plunder the three points.

The manager said: “We were beaten on Saturday by a Sauchie team which was hungrier than us and showed more desire.

“We were four goals down at half time and the game was lost.

“I asked them at half-time to go back out and show a bit of pride and we played a lot better.

“We had a good training session this week and had a blether about the game.”

The manager reckons things won’t get much easier this weekend when they take the trip to face a Forfar West end side sitting two places and two points ahead.

“I hope the Sauchie performance was a one off because we have a massive game against Forfar West End,” he said.

“They be hurting after being beaten by Glenrothes.

“It’s important that we get the win because we want to stay in the mix and make sure no team gets too much of a gap on us.”

The manager has a couple of niggles from the weekend but expects to have a full squad available for Saturday.
