Pittenweem’s youngsters traveled to Glenrothes Warout Stadium to take on East Fife in the FFDL Development Cup Final.

Both teams started well and looked to adapt to the big park.

First chance of the game fell to East Fife when good play down the right hand side released the speedy front man who’s shot was saved well by Scott in the Pittenweem net.

East Fife took the lead on the 10 minute mark when again a ball released down the right hand side found the number 8 who smashed home the ball from 10 yards.

Pittenweem looked to stamp their authority on the match and to their credit patiently played the ball looking for opening and came close when Todd broke down the left hand side and found Chater in the box and his shot was well saved by the East Fife number one.

Pittenweem coach Ironside freshened things up five minutes before half time and introduced Paterson and he had an instant impact.

He picked up the ball on the edge of the box and fired a left footed shot low into the bottom right corner.

Pittenweem took the lead when captain Donaldson picked up the ball 25 yards from goal and fired a shot in off the left hand post.

Pittenweem put distance between the sides when Lindsay struck a right foot shot across the keeper and in off the left hand post to make the scores 3-1.

Lindsay capped off a terrific performance for Pittenweem when he fired the ball home.
