After being Kelty Hearts last weekend, Ovenstone’s men followed that up with a 4-3 win at Hill o’Beath on Saturday.

Those six points picked up on their travels have helped hoist Tayport up to 14th place in the Super League.

But the gaffer knows there is still plenty of work to be done, and is targetting another maximum when Bo’ness visit the Canniepairt this wekend.

He said: “We’ve reacted well to recent set-backs and have now won two away games in the bounce.

“That has given us some hope for the run in, but we can’t let up.

“We have to lift the performance again for the match against Bo’ness and I know that the players will give their all.”

Tayport’s made hard work of it at Keirs Park after throwing away a two goal lead.

But they showed remarkable fighting spirit to again get their noses in front.

“Where do I start?” said Ovenstone.

“We were two goals up and cruising, so it was so frustrating to let the lead slip.

“However, we showed great character to come back and win the game.

“The introduction of Matt Adam gave us that pace that defenders fear and he did his bit to dig us out of a hole. It was Steve Kerrigan’s call to put Matty on and it worked for us.”
