Why ex-Greenock Morton loanee Arron Lyall has chosen to join Raith Rovers

New Raith Rovers signing Arron Lyall has outlined his delight after teaming up with his ex-Greenock Morton gaffer Dougie Imrie at Raith Rovers.

Right winger Lyall, 22, who spent last season on loan at the Cappielow side from Ross County, was Morton Young Player of the Year in season 2024-2025 under Imrie and now has him as gaffer again after joining Rovers on a two-year contract.

Lyall said: “I’m absolutely buzzing to sign for the club. I’ve already seen how passionate the fans are and can’t wait to play in front of them.

"It’s very important having a previous relationship with the gaffer and how much trust he’s shown in me before. I think that showed with me playing my best football under him, so hopefully it’s a repeat of that.

"I can’t wait to get going and having been on the other side of games at Stark’s Park before, I’m buzzing to get going in front of the fans and show them what I can do with their full support.”

Raith posted: “We are delighted to announce the signing of Arron Lyall on a two-year deal.

"A dynamic midfielder who operates on either wing, Arron reunites with Dougie Imrie, under whom he won Young POTY during their time together at Morton. Welcome to the club, Arron!”
