Why Raith Rovers boss Dougie Imrie is 'over the moon' with his playing squad
Dougie Imrie has declared himself delighted with the 22-man squad he has assembled at Raith Rovers after a lively summer of ins and outs at Stark’s Park.
When asked his thoughts on the troops he has assembled down Kirkcaldy way, the Raith gaffer told the Fife Free Press: “I'm over the moon. I've got to give a huge amount of credit to the board and the chairman for allowing us to go and get the players that I identified.

"I wanted Tiff (Scott Tiffoney) and I wanted Bairdy (Jack Baird) for a long time. Unfortunately, both of them were under contract, but when they were both available that we could get them, the board have allowed me to go and do that.
"We've got two players for every position that can play at any point, whether they're starting or coming on. The bench is really, really strong. So, yes, I feel as if I've got a really good squad. Now it's up to us to go and show how good we are week on week.
“Everybody knows they have to be at it every day in training, because unfortunately with having 22 excellent players at the club, two are going to miss out week on week. So it's up to the players to keep working hard in training and keep working hard on a match day to make sure they're in the squad on a Saturday.
"I don't think there's much between all the teams in the Championship, so it's there for anyone. It's about getting a run.
"Can you win four, five, six games on the bounce to give yourself a massive gap and give yourself a chance? So that's our aim.”
