Zanatta rejoins Raith on pre-contract deal

Raith Rovers have signed a pre-contract agreement with 23-year-old forward Dario Zanatta, an ex-Stark’s Park player who is plying his trade with Championship rivals Ayr United this season.

Zanatta previously spent a loan period at Kirkcaldy in season 2017-18 – a 26-game spell where he scored six goals on either side of a brief recall to his then-parent club Hearts.

A Canadian Under-20 international, he has also played for Queens Park, Alloa and Partick Thistle since making the breakthrough at Hearts in 2015.

The Rovers management team of John McGlynn and Paul Smith spoke to the club’s official website raithrovers.net about their new recruit, declaring: “We are fully focused on the job in hand this season but we are also looking to next season.

“After securing a pre-contract agreement with Tom Lang, and with several of the current squad under contract for next season, we are looking forward to working with Dario and developing him as a player as part of the squad next season.”
