A week after announcing the arrival of Matt Sisca from Manchester Storm, the Kirkcaldy side have this morning confirmed the capture of 32-year-old Czech D-man David Turon.

The 6ft 2in blueliner is no stranger to the EIHL, or indeed Fife fans, having featured 46 times for derby rivals Dundee Stars last season up until leaving the club in January due to undisclosed personal reasons.

Turon, who recorded five goals, 14 assists and 22 PIMs on Tayside, was subsequently snapped up by Cracovia Krakow in Poland for the remainder of the 2015-16 season, where he won the league title.

Turon was part of the NHL draft in 2002 round 4 with Toronto Maple Leafs and is an experienced campaigner having played in the AHL, CHL/ECHL, Slovakia, Czech, Germany 2, Italy as well as Poland.

Head coach Todd Dutiaume said: “I saw David play a number of times last year and liked what I saw.

“He will give us some more size back there, he is a steady and consistent performer and came highly recommended by his peers.

“He has a wealth of experience and will be an asset both in the room and on the ice.”

“David will fit in very well on this team, he’s a good team guy who is willing to do what it takes to win.”

“Crucially it also gives me another right handed d-man to work with Phil Paquet.”

Turon’s arrival takes the number of confirmed Fife summer signings to five, including three returnees.
