A 17-year-old ice hockey goalie from Lochgelly has been selected for Great Britain Under 18 squad.
Renny Marr was named as one of two netminders in the squad for March’s World Championship (Division 2A) taking place in Tallinn, Estonia.
The squad met for a camp this month before final selections were chosen by head coach Martin Grubb, who hails from Kirkcaldy.
Renny is a product of Kirkcaldy Ice Hockey Club’s junior development, and currently plays for Kirkcaldy Kestrels in the Scottish National League.
The former St Andrews High School pupil has also occasionally featured on the Fife Flyers bench as back-up when covering for injuries.
Renny is the younger brother of Jordan Marr (23), a former Flyers netminder, who currently plays college hockey in America with Finlandia University.
Another Kirkcaldy junior development player, Tyler Plews, a 17-year-old defenceman, has also been listed among the GB U18 reserves.
Tyler is the son of former Dundee, Fife and Edinburgh D-man Scott Plews, who now coaches the Fife Falcons U20 side.
