A GLENROTHES Rugby Club player has won a top award, reports MIKE DELANEY.
Christopher Mann took the Caledonia League regional player of the season prize at the Scottish Rugby Union club awards dinner, held at Murrayfield, Edinburgh.
Manager, Jim Bernard, said: “Chris’s award is one that proves if you put in the hard work and have a good attitude anything is possible.
“His performances this season have been to a very high standard and this has also been reflected not only in this accolade, but with Dundee High School offering Chris a chance to train with them during the close season.
“I personally would like all our players to aspire to this level of consistency and hope this can be a springboard for his career if he wishes to develop to the next step.
“For a club the size of Glenrothes this achievement is also testament to the youth structure that Chris has come through.
“I am very proud to be associated with Glenrothes Rugby Club when core skills and hard work are recognised like this by the SRU.”
Reds reached the semi-final of the Howe of Fife Sevens in their last outing of the season.
