And to welcome the budding Tigers and Lexis, top video bloggers Lloyd Greenaway and Fiona Buchan were there to capture every drive, chip and putt on the Dunnikier 2019 course.

The couple, from St Monans, have over 40,000 subscribers to their YouTube channel ‘The Adventures of Lloyd and Fifi’, and when they heard about the amazing youth and junior development projects at The Dunnikier, had to get involved.

Lloyd said: “Our combined aim on this project is to promote Fife and show what a beautiful place we have on our doorstep for us to enjoy and to encourage tourists from all over to visit Fife as a destination, not just for golf, but for great experience also.

“We were so inspired by what Dunnikier Park Golf Club have done with the creation of their 2019 course to encourage junior development of the game we just had to come and film it.

“This is what our Instagram and YouTube message is all about, that anyone can golf and golf is for everyone.”

The club’s 2020 youth and junior coaching and development programs were decimated by the impact of the pandemic and, with only two weeks notice, the club implemented a five-week coaching plan online and the 40 places were snapped up within 48 hours.

Fiona added: “We think it really captures the essence of what Dunnikier are trying to encourage here with their junior programme.”

With such a fantastic response the club will now look to implement similar programs during 2021 and include the same format with their ‘Girls in Golf’ and ‘Golf in Schools’ initiatives.

Ken Smith, 2019 course developer, said: “We are merely custodians of this course and game and it’s fantastic that we are putting in place not only a legacy for our club but the future of golf.”
