Planning consultancy, PPCA, noted: “The lodges will offer high quality self-catering holiday accommodation throughout the year. ”

The plans come after the club was left in ruins due to a huge fire devastating the club in June.

In the planning statement, PPCA stated that regeneration of the site is now “essential” due to the detrimental impact of the blaze.

The application said the new lodges will be eco-friendly and situated in a former driving range east of the club.

They  will be made out of 100% recyclable material to ensure a low carbon footprint in the area.

There are plans to fit solar panels to the moss-covered roofs of each home to allow for hot water to be used in the buildings.

The lodges, which which will be constructed out of wood and local ‘whinstone’ detailing, will be positioned into the existing countryside backdrop and will offer views across the Firth of Forth.

PPCA noted that the lodges hope to support the local community by using locally sourced materials to build the homes and the promise of accommadation will welcome in tourists to local cafes, pubs and restuarants.

Councillors will decide whether plans get the ahead on September 20.
