Fife golfer Calum Hill notched up his second top-30 finish of the month at Spain’s Estrella Damm Andalucia Masters at San Roque at the weekend.

The Kirkcaldy-born 29-year-old tied for 28th place with a nine-under-par score of 279 after carding rounds of 72, 69, 70 and 68 at the Real Club de Golf Sotogrande competition, won by France’s Julien Guerrier with a 21-below-par total of 267.

That followed a joint-18th-placed finish the weekend before at the FedEx French Open at Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines with a score of 275, also nine under par.

Fellow Fife golfer Calum Hill was also in action in Spain but the Drumoig-based 29-year-old didn’t make the cut after carding scores of 72 and 73 in rounds one and two.

Hill is currently ranked 214th in the world and Syme is rated as 172nd.

The pair are almost neck and neck in the Road to Dubai rankings, with Syme 48th and Hill 52nd.

Hill is playing in the 2024 Genesis Championship in Incheon in South Korea at the moment.
