Fife Flyers will host their tribute prior to Sunday’s Challenge Cup game against Dundee Stars at Fife Ice Arena. There will also be 47 seconds of applause – to tie in with the jersey number he wore – before their game against Glasgow Clan at Braehead Arena on Saturday night.
A spokesman for the league said: “We would also like to actively encourage further fan-led tributes before, during or after games. Some fans may find the minute's applause difficult, and we ask that you continue to support each other as you did so wonderfully over the past year."

Police have described their on-going investigation as a complex inquiry. A man arrested on suspicion of manslaughter has been re-bailled more than once, and his case has been continued until November. In Sheffield, the senior coroner has suspended her investigation while the police inquiry takes its course.
A plaque has been erected at the Nottingham arena with the words “forever our 47” in memory of the jersey number he wore and which will formally be retired on December 14 when Fife Flyers are the opponents.
EIHL clubs have already moved their Hallowe’en themed matches into the start of November to allow the tributes to take place.
