FiFab was one of eight companies to take part in a new format to determine which would be the club’s main sponsor.

‘Great 8’ saw each business take the same sponsorship package, with one eventually winning the title sponsorship.

Last Friday, the Great 8 Brenwood Motor Company, Specsavers, Remax Scotland, SM Roofing and Building, Nationwide Gas Care, Fife Auto Centre, FiFab and Scott Gibson Body Shop – gathered at partner hotel the Bay Hotel in Kinghorn, to take part in the draw.

They watched a video of Flyers’ head coach Todd Dutiaume selecting a numbered puck from a bag – after which the partners found out which one had the winning puck.

Gary Keddie from FiFab was delighted to become the main sponsor.

He said: “We were keen to continue to work with Flyers this season and, when the opportunity to join the Great 8 came up, we thought it was a perfect fit.”

A Fife Flyers spokesman added: “This is the start of a new adventure for all involved and we are keen to ensure that all of our partners enjoy working with us.”

McDonalds have also returned as a sponsor for 2016/17.

The fast food firm’s logo will be on the jerseys, and it will continue to sponsor the power plays, and match night Chuck A Puck game which is getting a make-over for the forthcoming season.
