Magic time ahead for Fife Flyers

Fife Flyers have agreed to a tentative date for a competition to kick off the 2020/21 season.

The Kirkcaldy-based side will play in the two-day Magic 5 competition in Nottingham in October.

The ten clubs of the EIHL held one of their weekly conference calls on Tuesday to move forward with plans for a 2020/21 season whilst monitoring scientific advice on when hockey buildings can open again and the league could start.

The result of the call is a provisional date of Saturday 3rd and Sunday October 4 2020 for the Magic 5 weekend.

If plans come to fruition the regular league and cup season will start the following week.

The end of season Playoff Finals weekend will be pushed back to a provisional date of Saturday 24th and Sunday 25th April 2021, subject to government restrictions.

With last season’s Playoff finals cancelled, many fans have transferred their tickets to the Magic 5, though some have requested refunds.
