With Treaton Park deemed playable after a morning pitch inspection, KSH welcomed Scone Thistle for this North League encounter.

It was the visitors who got the game underway, kicking up the slope

The home side almost took the lead after a defence splitting pass from Byers found Field in the box.

He in turn lobbed the ball over the ‘keeper only to see his effort come off the crossbar and cleared.

Field then found himself in on goal but his effort was saved by the Thistle ‘keeper’s legs, Byers latched onto the rebound but saw his effort cleared off the line.

Play was quite scrappy at times with the hosts only occasionally showing the football that has impressed many this season so far.

With 20 minutes played KSH eventually got themselves in front.

Lornie drifted in at the back post and pounced on some slack defending, coolly lobbing into the far corner of the net.

The same man almost doubled the lead from Byers’ pin-point pass but his right foot effort slid inches past the far upright.

Scone did have some half chances the best falling to their number eight who blazed wide from inside the 18 yard box.

Into the second period and indeed a big let off for the homesters.

Good interplay down the right flank saw the Scone winger in one-on-one but his effort dragged just wide of the post.

This acted as a wake up call to KSH as they pressed Scone higher up the park. Robertson had a header from a Craig corner well saved before Craig himself cut in from the right and hit a superb curling effort past the helpless Scone keeper for 2-0.

George Field finally got his goal, latching onto Thomson’s deft back heel and slipping the ball past Scone’s keeper.

Liam Craig then collected the ball in his own half and went on a blistering run past three players.

He then chipped the ‘keeper from 22 yards but his attempt found the inside of the right hand post and was cleared.

Ryan Thomson then broke clear and rounded the keeper but, instead of shooting, he cut back onto his left and the chance was lost as the Scone defender intercepted.

As darkness loomed, the referee blew for full time and a deserved win for the Treaton Park boys.
