Like the Blues the Hills have still to record a win and in fact are pointless after two games.

This is a game that Kirkcaldy will be hoping to win, especially after their thrilling, high scoring single point loss to West of Scotland last week.

Kirkcaldy won both the league games between the teams last season but in the first in Glasgow were grimly holding onto a four point lead as a resurgent Hills team scored three tries in a blistering ten minute spell near the end.

The return at Beveridge Park had a more clear cut result with the Blues winning 41-12 at the start of December.

Try scoring has not been a problem for Quintan Sanft’s side this season and in fact have touched down 18 times in the the league and one cup game played so far.

Defensive short comings and indiscipline continue to plague the team with four yellow cards racked up so far in the league fixtures and an alarming negative penalty count.

Last week the Blues were short of three first line backs in Jamie Moffat, Finlay Bruce and Kurt Littlejohn. The last named is possibly the Blues’ most potent attacker and it is hoped he will be fit enough to turn out at Hughenden.

Kirkcaldy seconds have a blank week with the date reserved for the Caledonia Shield matches involving the first fifteens in their league.
