Lundin golfers still reaping the benfits of golfing scheme

Celebrating its 125th anniversary, the club recently opened its doors to attract new members as part of the nationally run Get into Golf pregramme.

Their involvement was a huge success, with an open day in April seeing 20 Get into Golf memberships taken up and 36 introductory full memberships sold.

Some of those players headed out on the fairways recently to put into full use the skills they’ve been learning.

The winner of the club’s nine holes greensome was Jennifer Wheeler, partnered by the more experienced Hazel Gillon.

Boasting a scenic East Neuk location, offering accessible year-round golf on a beautifully kept nine-hole parkland course with a varied calendar of both social and golfing events, Lundin Ladies already offer a great golfing experience.

The club also successfully applied for a Club Development Fund grant to subsidize promotion of the open day (£250 awarded) and went on to attend the a Scottish Golf business planning workshop in St Andrews in late March with the aim of taking a more ‘business-like’ approach to other elements of their club.

When the open day arrived, the club decided to offer both a Get Into Golf membership on the day and an introductory full membership on the day priced the same – fittingly £125 to mark their anniversary.

Both memberships had full member benefits, with the differential being the Get into Golf offering was to include 10 hours of group coaching from Fraser Robertson, the club’s approved pro.

Get into Golf is a summer of activity aimed at encouraging adult beginners to pick up a club and get back in the sport.
