Madrascals plunder mini rugby title

The host side fielded two teams, blues and whites, while Lasswade, Watsons, Portobello and Accies also competed.

The Whites faced a Madras squad in their first game who looked good from the off - fast and strong, getting stuck into tackles and rucks and generally totally bossing the game, coming out on top 11-3.

The final was played between Accies and Madras, with the local boys really showing how much they need to improve .

Madras won fairly easily by 5-2 to life the title.

A spokesman said: “Overall a very enjoyable and smooth day, big thanks to all the coaches, helpers in the clubhouse and mums and dads.”
