Marathon effort from Haddies Giles and Karen

The famous London Marathon took place on Sunday morning, taking in all the well-known sights of the capital city.

Giles Harris and Karen Cunningham reaped the rewards of long winter training runs by completing the 26.2 mile route in 3:29 and 4:27 respectively.

In the elite camp, representing Great Britain, Dell Rae ran a stormer to finish with a personal best time of 2:37, shaving over three minutes off his previous time.

Closer to home and tackling a much shorter distance, the summer grand prix continued with a Haddie trip to Dundee parkrun at Camperdown Park.

Junior Colin McKie claimed a course PB of 20:41 over the one lap, tough, hilly trail course to finish in eighth place overall.

First Haddie lady home was Yvonne Dehn finishing in 23:32, a distance and course PB, and third placed woman. Duncan Hall finished his local parkrun in Melbourne, Australia to finish 1st senior in 19:49.

Colin McKie followed up his success at parkrun with a fourth place finish on Sunday at the Lomonds junior hill race.

The Apollo Duathlon race took place on the Queen’s highland estate on Sunday.

Debz and George Hay competed in the tough event which saw competitors run 6K, cycle 16K, and finish with another 5K run.

Gordon Halliday headed to the scenic coast of East Lothian to tackle the inaugural John Muir Way ultramarathon.

Starting at Port Seton, the 50K route followed coastal trails as well as heading inland, before finishing in Dunbar.
