200 take on the Century’s annual challenge

More than 200 cyclists enjoyed the Fife Century Road Club’s annual reliability trials.

The cyclists, ranging from top professional’s to club racers and leisure cyclists started from Falkland in mist and drizzle from 9.30 with the longer 65mile road ride being run around Lindores, Dunning, Auchterarder, Glen Devon and Milnathort, a slower 65mile ride was run in the opposite direction. At 10.00 a shorter 35 mile ride around Lindores, Glenfarg, and Milnathort started and also a Mountain Bike ride around the Lomonds. All cyclists were welcolmed back at the hall in Falkland with hot soup, stovies and cakes.

Another reliability trial takes place this Sunday and again it is open to all levels of cyclist, the start this time is from Milton of Balgonie Hall with the longer 65 mile rides leaving at 10.00am and taking in Crail, St Andrews, Tayport, Cupar and Kennoway finishing back at Milton. The shorter 35 mile route is around Colinsburgh, Largo Ward, Pitscottie, Craigrothie and Kennoway then back to Milton starting at 10.15. Again there is a mountainbike ride leaving at 10.15 and follows the local trails for around 3 hours. All welcome and the £5 entry fee includes a buffet at the end of the rides.
