FIFE Bowling Association suffered another defeat last Saturday, as hosts to West Fife at Newport in this season’s derby match.
The match was closely contested until a lengthy shower swung the match in West Fife’s favour, as they built up a comfortable lead during that period.
For West Fife, Stewart Pagan and Kenny Bald were the match winners, inflicting heavy defeats on Blair Doig and Alan Pearson respectively.
In the other two Fife losses, Steven Bone lost a good early lead and went down by a single shot against Jim McGuire, while Wayne Hogg lost by four shots in a classic contest against Paul Brown.
For Fife, Jimmy Forbes and his team were the star performers, inflicting a 12-shot defeat on international player, Jimmy Gilruth.
Colin Falconer added a second victory, scoring singles at the last two ends to defeat Robert McFarlane by two shots.
Fife are on their travels on Saturday when they oppose one of the leading teams, West Lothian, at Linlithgow.
