METHIL Bowling Club has organised a tribute match to one of Levenmouth’s most respected and successful bowlers.
Willie Wyles, from Coaltown of Wemyss, won the gents’ singles title a record eight times and was also a winner of the Scottish senior singles title.
As a civilian employee, Willie also played in Scottish police bowling competitions and won the singles championship in 2003.
Sadly, he passed away last year, but now family and team-mates have organised a game between a Willie Wyles select and a Fife Bowling Association select as a tribute.
The game will be played this Saturday, August 18 at Methil Bowling Club.
Anybody wishing to attend is asked to be at the club for 2pm with a 2.30pm start.
