Glenrothes youth Callum Foster, made a dream start to his road cycling career by winning the Ingliston Youth Criterium series in Edunburgh.

Callum, a pupil at Glenrothes High School and a member of Team Leslie Bike Shop/ Right Move Windows, took third in the first round, but then two wins and a second place in subsequent rounds meant he was in the leader’s jersey going into the final round. Another strong ride and a sixth place secured the overall win.

Callum’s team mate, Natalie Milne, pictured, also took the series win in the women’s event, also taking fifth in the final round.

In the senior event, the Leslie Bike team just missed out on scoring a treble when Paul Newnham, who had been equal on points with Ross Crook going into the final round, lost to the Edinburgh man in the sprint to the line with Crook taking second to Newnhams fourth place.
