CELLARDYKE athlete Zach Delaney (pictured) headed 118 runners clad in white to re-enact the iconic ‘Chariots of Fire’ film opening scene over the West Sands, St Andrews.
Zach, easing ahead at the half-way turning point, reached the finish in 16 minutes 57 seconds.
Kirsty Hamilton placed ninth overall, first female, in 19 minutes 11 seconds with Fife colleague Kirsty Sharratt in 15th.
One hundred junior runners completed one-mile and two-mile out and back routes.

Crail cross-country hill runners, Logan and Tristan Rees, became multi-event athletes, contesting the schools championships at Grangemouth last Saturday.
Logan placed sixth in the 15-17 boys age group, with his pentathlon total of 1781 points from shot (5.82m), 100m hurdles (20.14), long jump (4.84m), 200m (28.76), before a winning final 1500m timed at five minutes 00.24 seconds.
