Drumoig’s Connor Syme has been selected for Scottish Golf’s mens side to compete at the European Amateur Team Championships next month.

The six-player team will bid to defend the European title won in Sweden last summer when they travel to France.

Sandy Scott, runner up in the St Andrews Links Trophy on Sunday, has been picked with the GB&I Boys cap joining three members of last year’s victorious side at Golf de Chantilly from July 5-9.

Ewen Ferguson (Bearsden) and Grant Forrest (Craigielaw) return to the team, with Australian Amateur champion Syme.

Peebles’ Craig Howie and Cawder’s Jamie Savage are also selected.

The Scots also field a ladies team at the event.
