Fife bowlers come to the ‘four’ once again

FIFE Bowling Association continued their winning form in their second match in this season’s Scottish Senior’s East Section matches.

Fife struggled for a short spell early in the tie against Edinburgh and Leith at Leven, but were well on top at the finish, winning on all four rinks.

Leading the way was Mike Rollo, who finished nine shots ahead of B. J. Smith, and not far behind was John Callaghan, who defeated Adam Davidson by seven shots.

Bob Dick was 9-0 down after five ends against Willie Paul, but his team hit back hard, moving to a four-shot victory at the finish.

Roy White completed the four winning cards with a two-shot success against Ian Combe.

Details: Fife 66, Edinburgh and Leith 44 (Fife skips first) - J. Callaghan 15, A. Davidson 8; R. White 16, I. Combe 14; M. Rollo 20, B. J. Smith 11; R. D. Dick 15, W. Paul 11.

This week’s match against West Fife was played at Kelty on Monday.
