THE first round of the East Neuk Wobblers Motorcycle Trials Championship was held at Drumcarro Craig on Sunday with 40 entrants, including 10 youths.

David Smith of Pittenweem had a good ride to finish in second place on the A Route, alongside Paul Anderson of Leven.

Gary Duncan of Kennoway also did well, taking second place in the Clubman Route ahead of Brian Dall from Lower Largo.

In the youth categories, Gordon Peebles of Colinsburgh took the Youth B (B Route) and Connor Smith of Pittenweem the Youth B (A Route), with Jamie Duffus of Leven second in the Youth A.

Rory Hay of Ladybank was second in the Youth D and Kieran Hay won the Youth C (A Route).

The next trial will be on March 11 at Drumcarrow, with a 10.30am start.

Meanwhile, the East Neuk Wobblers 2011 Awards Presentation will be held at Colinsburgh Masonic Hall on March 3.

Normally held in Anstruther Town Hall, the venue change was a necessity because of work being carried out there.

The club, set up to promote motorcycle trials in the area, with new and inexperienced riders in mind, now has more than 200 members, with new riders joining every month.

The Wobblers hold regular practice days throughout the year, aimed at getting new riders to go along.
