Kennoway 3 - Greig Park Rangers 2

Local AFC rivals Kennoway and Greig Park Rangers met on league duty at the weekend.

This was always going to be a hotly contested game between the neighbours and it lived up to expectations.

Greig Park opened the scoring against the run of play with a well-worked move.

However, Kennoway were soon back on track with a goal from Ryan Thomson, and immediately pressed on for a second.

It came courtesy of Mark Cramb, after some great passing play between Stefan Anderson and Wayne Davidson.

Kennoway captain Paul McBride then saw red for a tough challenge.

The second half saw Greig Park come out strongest and they pressed the man advantage and grabbed an equaliser.

The extra man didn’t last long, though, as the referee showed a red card to a Greig Park player for dissent.

A superb strike from Alan McAllister soon followed to ease Kennoway home.

Kennoway’s triumph soon turned to heartbreak, though, as keeper Shaun Wallace was taken from the field with a badly dislocated finger.

Everyone has wished Shaun a speedy recovery and the side now looks forward to the Scottish Cup tie at Sandys AFC on November 5. (PICTURE BY VOODOO KITTEN DESIGN AND PHOTOGRAPHY, KENNOWAY)
