Knockhill will host its biggest ever rally event this weekend with the inaugural McRae Rally Challenge coming to the Fife track.

This special rally festival takes place to mark the 20th anniversary of Colin McRae’s 1995 World Rally Championship win.

As well as the 30 mile, 10-stage rally, this event will showcase some of Colin’s most iconic competition cars – including the 1995 championship winning Subaru.

A star-studded line-up of 40 top names are taking part including Colin’s brother, Alister McRae, who is flying in from Australia, WRC stars Kris Meeke, David Bogie and Steve Perez, as well as legendary WRC Champion, Stig Blomqvist, who will compete in a Group B Audi Quattro.

There are additional entries from British Touring Car pairing Gordon Shedden and Aiden Moffat as well as ex-British Superbike rider John Crawford, who will all be competing in their first ever rally.

Stuart Gray, Knockhill events director said: “The McRae Rally Challenge has exceeded expectations with the amazing entry list and content, probably marking it as one of the best single venue rally events ever seen in the UK.

“There are so many ex World, British and Scottish champions entered and to have to the added dimension of two Scottish BTCC stars in Mk2 Escorts, it will be great to see who comes out on top.”

Tickets for the event can be pre-booked via the Knockhill website with all tickets purchased in advance subject to advanced booking discounts.

Tickets will also be available at the gate during the event.
