After strong runs at the recent Scottish Schools Cross Country Championships in Irvine, brothers Tristan and George Rees were selected to run for the Scottish Schools team at the prestigious British Schools Cross Country International in Dublin.

Both boys, who are coached by Ron Morrison in St Andrews, and were representing St Leonards School, ran well in a high quality inter boys field, with Tristan finishing in 16th overall and second Scot and George finishing close behind in 17th overall and third Scot.

Further afield, veteran athlete George Black broke the age 75-79 Parkrun record at the Hull Parkrun.

George’s time of 24.12 beat the previous record by over four minutes and is an impressive 31 seconds faster than the age 70-74 Parkrun record.
