THE Anstruther Rowing Club was in action at the Royal West regatta at Greenock.
Some of the men rowed in four or five out of the 10 races.
There were five clubs in attendance, coming from the east and west of Scotland.
The weather conditions proved to be quite a challenge, with an easterly wind making the out-going leg of the race difficult. However, this suited the rowers much better than other clubs.
The races were mass starts with all boats heading away from the beach, round a buoy, and then back.
The first two races were over a course of almost one and a half miles but this was reduced to a much smaller half-mile course as the wind increased.
The men’s 40 and overs were out in the first race but were beaten by North Berwick.
From there, the Anstruther crew put in an amazing performance, winning the next eight races with impressive style and finishing third in the final race with the mixed 50 and overs.
The next regatta will be at South Queensferry on Sunday, June 17.
